A Grand Day Out

Today we visited The Weir Garden, Herefordshire, belonging to the National Trust. The skies were blue, the sun shone, the birds sang, and mother nature was definitely rubbing her eyes and stirring from her winter slumbers.
The Weir Garden sits on a large bend in the river Wye as its waters meander on a journey from Wales to the Bristol Channel and out in to the Atlantic.

  2. Wow Rosemary! I envy you! The nature where you live seems to be much ahead of ours here. The landscape looks absolutely beautiful. My husband and I were once planning to walk from the north of GB to the south ( in several stages) but somehow we were walking always other long routes and never took the plunge. Well, your post has encouraged me and I have to have a word with hubby... Wishing you a nice weekend, Christa

    1. Dear Christa - there are a great many good walking routes you can take as I am sure you know. Hope you give it a try sometime. Your flowers will soon be poking through as well, it only takes a couple of weeks good sunshine and then mother nature quickly steps in.

  3. Great photos - just look at that sky! I love the one of the Wye with the gate, such a tranquil scene. All the flowers are beautiful - roll on Spring!

  4. Dear Rosemary, what lovely photos and what beautiful memories came flooding back. We walked with horse and gypsy wagon through Wales one Spring...when Daffodils and a riot of Spring Flowers were blooming profusely along the wayside.
    Thank you. Gina

    1. Hello Marijke - Spring is a joy to behold in the flower world, I think we feel bereft not seeing flowers during the winter months. Just a little more sunshine and the leaves will be opening on the trees.
