Blossom

The blossom is wonderful this year, perhaps because of all the warm sunshine, lack of rain and still calm days and nights.

    1. Thanks very much Mette - I noticed on the weather maps that there was some white over Norway. I think they are expecting some on the high ground here in Scotland. Funny weather, yesterday we sat in my son's garden eating our lunch it was so warm!

  2. Hello Rosemary:
This is, as your images show, the most perfect time of the year. Lovely.

    1. Dear Jane & Lance - the weather is so strange this past winter and spring. According to the news, we have just had one of the warmest Spring months for over 100 years.

    1. Dear Lisa - we have had a remarkable winter and spring which has resulted in wonderful blossom and flowers. Hope that there is nothing awful lurking in the background, weatherwise, to destroy it.

    1. Dear Marijke - I feel I need to capture and hold the blossom whilst it is here, a few more days and this particular blossom will be gone.

  6. Gorgeous photos of exquisite blossom, Rosemary. We're in northern Scotland at the moment, where our fruit blossom has just started to come out and it's now snowing!

    1. Oh dear! I had heard that on the news - hope that it does not damage the fruit blossom that would be too unkind.

  7. It has been a wonderful blossom season for us for the fruit trees as well, but our magnolia is looking very sick in comparison to your beautiful blossoms.

    1. The magnolia is just on the turn, you can see some brown petals on the photo. Very soon it will be on its way, sadly, for another year.

  8. The cherry tree and magnolia (I think I am right) are stunning. Spring is glorious this year. It will be 90 degrees here this afternoon and that will set a record, even for this very hot place.

    1. Dear Olive - you are right it is magnolia. We have one of our granddaughters staying, and H and she have been out hiking in the hills for the day in glorious sunshine.

  9. Dear Rosemary - It seems blossums are coming out early all over the world. I understand that the yearly Cherry Blossum Festival in Washington, D. C. has been moved up by two weeks. Perhaps Nature is sending us a special message, but just what does it mean!?

    1. Dear Mark - that is a problem that concerns me. Much as I love the mild winter and warm spring, I cannot help but feel something is not quite right.

  10. The joy of spring in eight images. Incredible Rosemary! The light is glorious but the dark trunks and stems against the flowers is my favourite. Happy days!

    1. Dear Bertie - thank you. I took that photo from underneath the tree looking up. I think that it has a slight Japanese quality to it.

Our blooms here, seem to be fading away. You might remember i took some photos before christmas of the almond and apple blossoms.. and they are just about finished.

    1. Dear Val - it doesn't last long, but fortunately I still have some other blossom still to appear. The later double and single cherry variety and the fruit blossoms, apple, pear and plums.
Hope all is well with you.

    1. Dear Patrice - the winter weather has been so strange even between countries close together in Europe.
Give your magnolia time, they will eventually flower, and having waited for the flowers, you will be thrilled when they arrive.
      Glad you enjoyed the blossom.
