Congratulations

Our favourite grandson (we only have one grandson) has just received brilliant results in his GCSE exam results. Well done, and congratulations, we are very proud of you.
He is pretty nifty with his hands too, and made me lovely napkin rings from string

  4. Congratulations Dear Rosemary on your grandson's good pass. How delighted we are as grandparents to know our grandchildren are doing so well.
I wonder if your grandson is or was a scout! or maybe he has designs to be a naval officer! He sure knows how to knot.
A great napkin holder, sure to be used and shown with love.

He makes wonderful origami too, and I have some lovely things he has made me out of paper.
His main interest at the moment is to become a designer.

    1. Thank you Loi - H is doing very well, he had the dressing removed at hospital on Wednesday and it is making good progress. I suspect that he will always have funny markings on his nail though.

  8. Hello Rosemary, Congratulations are really in order here, because I was just reading that this year's GCSE scores were very low, with many students failing or only making very low scores.

    1. Did you read that in Taiwan? Isn't that amazing how quickly news gets to every corner of the world. He sat 15 different subjects, most of which he gained A* or A. He is walking in his sister's footsteps, who is at Oxford, so a tough act for him to follow.

  18. Congratulations to your grandson! Clever grandma = clever grandson! It is as easy as that, Rosemary! The napkin ring looks amazing! Has he been knitting it? I think this is a very decorative idea - just imagine ringing napkins with these for a winter invitation... Wishing you a relaxing weekend and thank you so much for all the very much appreciated comments you've left! Christa

    1. Thanks Christa - definitely no credit is due to me though. All down to himself and his parents providing a good environment for him.
I cannot make out how he has made the napkin ring. It has not been knitted. He is always fiddling with bits of string and comes up with some amazing things. He is one of those people who need to keep their fingers busy, making things out of paper or just playing jazzy music on the piano.
