  2. Would that be the Templeton Business Centre in Glasgow by any chance? Influence Doge's Palace in Venice??
In answer to your question about ecoli in the park, it's been caused by animal waste on the ground, mainly on the south side of the park where there are copious amounts of birdlife around the ponds and also cattle that graze freely on the open fields. 10 people became poorly earlier this year but thankfully, not seriously but they had to put warnings in place and there are various 'wash your hands' points around. We live on the north side of the park and although not so serious here we have still had to take notice! Suzy x

  3. Hello Rosemary:
We are halfway out of the door en route for Venice but could not resist. We think The Templeton Carpet Factory in Glasgow which, as it happens, we included in a post [5/7/2011]. But of course we may be completely wrong!

  5. Dear Rosemary, This architectural quiz is a doozey, but I'm going to give it a stab. I believe the style is Venitian Gothic, but that the building is somewhere in the UK. Obviously an institution of some sort, so I'll say a hospital. I hope I'm right on at least one count!

    1. Dear Mark - I had to look up the word doozey, it is new to me.
The UK commenters have all got it right - I didn't realise it was so familiar to people.
However, you have done incredibly well.
      Answers tomorrow.

  6. Dear Rosemary,
Αs shown in the photo, I would say that it can not be used as a residence .... The building may be is it donation from a public service or from a church to use as a school or orphanage ....May be a city hall ? I wait for the answer ...
    Have a nice evening !

  7. Dear Rosemary,
I spent over two hours this morning.. trying to fathom out this building and where it might be or what its based on ..
I myself think it European gothic.. I also thought Italian venitian as did mark. or Irish.. !!
I also looked at French. The thing that bothered me were the tiny little porthole type windows.. It almost looks spanish.
But its red brick and possibly granite ..modeled on some church..
    I will wait to see.
    I was all over wikipedia.

  10. Rosemary, the top turrets is a symbol from the Veronese Renaissance period which is placed on top of the building as a sign that a "noble lives there." So my guess is that this building was built in the Veronese Renaissance style as a Government office or school for higher learning, somewhere in the UK. Now I can't wait to know the right answer.
