Christmas Day 2012

We have opened our presents, feasted, and listened to the Queen.
Lovely daughter-in-law made crackers, and handmade gift wrapping for some of the presents. My cracker present was this linen shopping bag showing one of youngest son's linocuts which I am delighted to have.
A beautiful sky at the end of a lovely day. Hope you have all enjoyed a wonderful time.

  6. Very pretty and unique gift! Wonderful sky! But most of all, I'm glad you had a lovely Christmas day with loved ones Rosemary. That's what makes Christmas so pretty. We spent the afternoon at my parents with the rest of the family. It was a full house and a very good time as well. Yes we enjoyed this Christmas day. Merry Christmas!
    Bye,

    1. Dear Val - so pleased that you had such a happy family day - one to treasure. 27 is a huge number to cater for, my mind boggles at the amount of food, dishes, and cutlery for so many people.
Luckily the weather has turned mild here, so no opportunity for snowy photos at the moment. Off to Norway in the New Year but my son says the snow has melted there.
Have another lovely day with your family Val♥

  8. Dear Rosemary - First of all, I have to comment that you have a beautiful family — one need only look at those eyes to see the lovely personalities behind them. And then of course, I'm continually impressed with what a creative clan you are! I hope you're having a wonderful reunion(s)!

    1. Dear Mark - the creativity is ongoing at this moment from the visiting clan. My son is doing a linocut, grandson is making origami, the girls are reading whilst their mum is crocheting. I shall miss them all when they leave tomorrow.

  9. Hello Rosemary, Lucky you, you not only got a hand-made present, but also one of his best designs.

Have a good trip, and looking forward to your Norway pictures--snow or no snow.

    1. Hello Jim - I spoke to my son on Skype and at the moment the snow in Norway has all melted, but who knows.
I was delighted with my bag which they did themselves. Apparently you can buy some fabric transfer paper which goes through the computer printer in the normal way, and then you just iron the design on to the material. They also gave me a gorgeous life size bronze acorn.

    1. Dear Olive - we have been severn for 5 days. I alway worry that I might have too little food, but of course we have far too much. H and I will be eating turkey curry etc until the New Year.
Sometimes a quieter, please yourself Christmas can be very nice for a change especially as, I think you said, CC will be away next Christmas

Yes, you're right, it is Hesketh Crescent and the Osborne Hotel is in the center - we've stayed here annually since the family home was sold and really like the apartment we rent overlooking the bay........even in the rain!!!

Happy New Year - may it be the best ever.

    1. The crescent must be lovely at this time of year, that is when the rain disappears over the horizon. We have friends who have a timeshare in the crescent, and have stayed several times.
Glad that you are having a happy trip back to your homeland.
