Over our garden wall

Today was predicted to be cold, cloudy, and dull, but the weathermen got it wrong. As the three of us clambered over the stile it was just like a summers day - blue skies, sparkling sun and warm enough to be without a coat.
What's going on here? Its H and someone is filming him.
Off they go, I can't keep up with them.
A documentary maker was finalising his film by taking some outdoor shots of H in our Cotswold landscape. The film, is a private production, and to do with some work H is involved with.

  2. Today was lovely, very cold but it feels great to look up and see a blue sky. I seem to recognize that landscape, is that Coombe Hill near Wotton-Under-Edge?

    1. It was warm high up on our common, I was out with just a thin jacket. Not Coombe Hill, but if you stand in North Woodchester village and look up, this is what you see.

    1. Dear Gina - I will let you have red socks and red tie, but the shoes and the trousers are rust coloured.
You are one of my favourites too, an inspiration to everyone who visits you.

  5. Oh, you are two months ahead of us, I think! I was out for a walk to day, it was 5-, but the sun was shining, and some birds were tweeting, so spring will come! What a wonderful landscape you live in!

    1. Dear Lise - there is no sign of new grass on the landscape yet, it is still wearing its yellow colour from the snow, but soon the wild orchids will show their faces again.

  6. Hello Rosemary, Sunny winter days like that are really a gift. Ohio winters are more severe, but I remember that on sunny thaw days, my brother and I couldn't wait to get out into the woods, even when we still had to break the ice in the creek. Open grass in February was not even a possibility.

    1. Today was a perfect day Jim we were concerned by the weather forecast as we knew that an outing was on the cards. Yesterday was lovely too, so I don't know what charts or satellites the weathermen are looking out.

    1. Dear Patricia - it wasn't at all cold here, we just had summer jackets on, we couldn't believe it how warm it was. May be the weather is trying to make up for all the rain during the Autumn.

  8. Blue sky is so inspirng isn't it ? There hasn't been a cloud in the sky here today either. I'm hoping for similar in France next week, if all goes well, and we are able to go. The filming sounds interesting. Will we hear /see more ? J.

    1. Dear Janice - I am so pleased to learn that you may be able to visit France next week, that would be a lovely treat. The filming has been interesting, necessitating us digging out all our old photos etc, we are looking forward to seeing the results.

    1. Dear Marie - our snow only lasted for 6 days and then it went overnight as if by magic, so it was beautiful but brief. However, the snow has left the grass looking rather yellow and it will take a bit more sunshine for it to green up again.

  10. Such delightful countryside pictures. Makes me think of an English movie and Mr H fits in it perfectly! You have me curious though.... Your husband must be a very important man.... I'd love to see that documentary....

  14. Hello Rosemary:
Such a wonderful day and the quality of light, as shown in your images, looks to have been superb. And such fun to be filmed 'on location' although we are, of course, disappointed to learn that this film will not be on general release!

    1. Hello Jane and Lance - the day was wonderful, and we were so fortunate as the film maker had travelled up from Devon, but Jane and Lance if the film was on general release nobody would go.

  15. Oooo, H is very stylish indeed in his rust colour shoes and trousers and red tie! He tones in beautifully with the lovely hillside scenery, which looks blissfully serene. It is hard to believe there was snow there so recently. They are very pretty purple and yellow flowers - are they crocus? I'm trying to learn all the cool climate blooms.

    1. Dear Patricia - he was asked to wear the same clothes that he wore when indoor filming was done several months ago, fortunately the film maker sent a still to remind us. However, he does blend in with the countryside well.
Yes, you are correct the flowers are all crocus, they were enjoying the sunshine.

  16. Your photos prove winter has its own loveliness. Bare tree branches against a clear blue sky and brown grass makes one appreciate, tho, the cheery crocus when they emerge

    1. Dear Sarah - it was one of the best February days I can recall. The last February day that sticks in my mind, and mainly because it was a Valentine's Day was about 14 years ago. We had a friend staying and we had just had the pond and some paving done in the garden, and I remember sitting beside the new pond having coffee outside. Tonight I understand some weather from Russia might be on its way!!!

  18. Dear Rosemary,
Oh, what a beautiful day it must have been! I can see that spring is just around the corner for you-- I am green (or should I say, cold and snowy white) with envy! Your photos are wonderful as always, and I feel as if I got to have that lovely walk along with you.
I do hope your dashing H doesn't let the fame go to his head!
    Warm regards,

    1. Spring for all of us is definitely on its way. Unfortunately I heard on the weather news tonight that some cold weather is blowing in from Russia, but they have probably got is wrong again.
The filming was fun and we are looking forward to seeing the end results, and how everything is assembled. The walk on the common is to be accompanied by music, so we are wondering what will be used.

I think I should say that I love his grey cardigan and hid very long cord trousers. The hair style is magnificent: wind swept and truyly sexy.

I also love the heels of his shoes (seen from behind) and I adore the way he carries the tripod over his shoulder! Very, very nice.

The view is fabulous, Rosemary! Your husband was cleverly coordinate to blend in with the landscape!
