A Walk around my Corner of the World

This year the tree colours are vibrant, helped by dry calm weather, and a lack of frosts
Day by day these Rowan tree leaves turn a richer, deeper, more intense red
A Japanese Acer exhibiting a myriad of different colours
The woodland leaves have yet to turn - only the trees sitting around the periphery of the forest catching sunbeams have become golden
It appears that the autumn season still has several weeks left to run
before Mother Nature's final flourish

  2. English trees, and of course villages, are hard to beat. My favorite season the year and so many memories are conjured up looking at your vivid photos here Rosemary. You do live in a beautiful part of England, thanks for sharing with us.
Again thanks for saying such kind things about my blog - I've enjoyed hearing from some new friends who've stopped by from your recent post.
Have a great weekend - and news about an upcoming Paris visit sounds exciting.

    1. Dear Mary - the Cotswolds is a lovely area and having only lived here for the past 20 years really appreciate the distinctive architecture, the narrow country lanes, and the areas ambience.
Looking forward to our upcoming break

  3. Hello Rosemary, Your autumn landscapes are pure magic. At first I was thinking that what America lacks in old stone paths and walls we make up for in sugar maples, with their vivid, spectacular fall display. But your less polychromatic trees have a quiet, stately charm and dignity of their own.

    1. Dear Rosemary,

And what a pretty little corner of the world it is. Interesting what you pointed out about the trees that sit on the periphery of the forest turning color before the rest. Now you have me wondering. I will have to pay attention to see if that is true in our area.
Lovely photographs, it's almost like being there and taking in all that, scrubbed by the trees, clean air.

    3. Dear Gina - this is the very first time that I have noticed this myself. As I walked over the Common to the woods it was all looking very golden, but once I stepped inside and began walking along the pathways it was green.

  33. Your pictures are absolutely gorgeous Rosemary and your corner of the world looks like such a beautiful place. Nature sure is the biggest artist of them all and this autumn has been full of stunning colours. Those daily walks have been pure joy all through out October. But I guess most of all the leaves will disappear within a couple of days here as frost is on it's way and apparently the first snow for the season. A new month and new adventures. :)

Take care sweet Rosemary and I hope your November has started out the best way possible.♥

  34. Autumn's loveliness is gentle in your corner of the world. My favourite photo of the bunch is the one with the two paths diverging in the woods. I can imagine standing there dithering over which one to take, hearing the soft sound of a leaf or a dozen wafting to the ground and smelling the wonderful scent of the decomposing carpet of leaves. Simply beautiful.
