I agree that there are not many more beautiful places on earth. Love that glorious view you posted in your photos. And what a spectacular house. Was it the one used in the Pride and Prejudice film with Colin Firth? Love that golden color stone. I'm not sure that such modern sculpture rests easily in such a location, but I'm probably wrong. I like modern artworks, but in this instance, the house and grounds upstages it all.Yvettehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08919246184376538331noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7046286238110595318.post-73184197977916795982015-10-03T20:59:30.458+01:002015-10-03T20:59:30.458+01:00It was lovely to still be able to see these wildfl...It was lovely to still be able to see these wildflowers at the end of SeptemberRosemaryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03814070177137076757noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7046286238110595318.post-91915995087414879672015-10-03T18:19:07.470+01:002015-10-03T18:19:07.470+01:00Just wonderful photos (the little flowers are so c...Just wonderful photos (the little flowers are so cute).<br />Hugsorvokkihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11408082210385156163noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7046286238110595318.post-23114611526173599132015-09-29T21:16:21.881+01:002015-09-29T21:16:21.881+01:00I think that I am rather biased regarding Chatswor...I think that I am rather biased regarding Chatsworth Jenny, it has always held such a strong memory for me right back to my childhood.Rosemaryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03814070177137076757noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7046286238110595318.post-87446721557413202482015-09-29T21:14:33.454+01:002015-09-29T21:14:33.454+01:00The fountain and water cascade were very innovativ...The fountain and water cascade were very innovative garden features at the time, and I think that they are still worthy elements in the garden today.Rosemaryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03814070177137076757noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7046286238110595318.post-3360976380269410252015-09-28T22:33:14.409+01:002015-09-28T22:33:14.409+01:00I've never visited Chatsworth - it always seem...I've never visited Chatsworth - it always seemed too stiff and formal for me. But from what you show of the gardens, it seems that they've made real efforts to create variety and charm. The garden is so beautiful. Blue is my favorite color and Heavenly Blue is perfectly lovely. Why the conservatory was demolished in less than 100 years?
