Welcome back. We have missed you and do so hope that you have had a wonderful time.

We have no idea how you create these most spectacular images, but they are cleverly intriguing. Spiders' webs really are the most amazing structures!!

    1. Dear Jane and Lance - how kind, and I can say that I missed you both too. It is extraordinary how attached we have all become to one another in a comparatively short time.
I am pleased that you like the cobweb images. They were all made out of actual cobwebs in the garden. The process is not very difficult, I just mess about with them an see what happens.

  8. Hi, Rosemary,

Your first spider web reminds me of the work of Erté — Art Deco jewels. Incidentally, I have heard that one of the reasons insects get caught in a spider's web is that they see it as a hologram of a flower! It makes sense, doesn't it?

    1. Dear Mark - there are so many interesting facts surrounding spiders and their webs. When I was taking some photos of cobwebs in the garden I noticed that one had a thread going from the web to a tree at least 30 feet away, or it may have started off in the tree. Either way it is intriguing to know how it travelled that distance. I know that spiders threads are five times stronger than steel, and that it can stretch to almost 40% without breaking. Clever little creatures.

  9. How unique, how creative, the cobweb Mandala is, rosemary! I am familiar with Mandala in Buddhism and I know it is also found in Christianity such as in rose windows of churches. Circular designs are found in nature, which I think is the most beautiful. Spider web is an intricate nature’s art, and I think cosmic diagrams are in it. I’m also impressed with the full moon art. I feel as if peering into the parallel world through a magical window.

    1. Dear Yoko - I was trying to think of something in nature that was round and resembled a Mandala and it was the cobweb that came into my mind. It is interesting the way they are all unique and very pleasing to observe at close quarters. I admire the spiders creativity, a truly industrious little creature.
The first photo does I agree look like the moon, but in fact it is the very early morning sun surrounded by a heat mist. Within 30 minutes of me taking the photo the mist had cleared and the day became very hot and sunny. I love your description of peering into a parallel world through a magical window.

    1. Thank you very much. Actually everyone thinks it is the moon, but in fact it is the early morning sunrise with a September heat mist. I will put a note there. The mist had all vanished within no time and a very hot day ensued.

To be able to see spider webs on your walk, I suspect, that you must still be on your travels in Ireland. I love to see them first thing in the morning covered in dew and glistening like jewelled necklaces.

Most people think it is the moon, but actually it is the sun!!! Early sun rise with a heat haze, if you look carefully you can see the start of the blue sky. The day turned out to be a very warm September day.
