  3. Hello Rosemary, Welcome back from your trip. Glad you are seeing such nice fall weather--we even have been having a few crisp, pleasant days over here, perfect for walking. Funny, I never have thought much about the translucency of fall foliage, although it always seems a special feature of the young green leaves in springtime.

    1. Hello Jim - I must admit that I took these photos just before leaving for Turkey in case the colours were over on my return. I was going to say that a lovely sunny autumn day is best for showing off the translucency of the fall foliage, but then relised that I photographed most of these on a wet day! Thank you for your welcome back, it is lovely to reconnect with blogging friends again.

    1. Thank you Debra - got lots of photos but my mind is rather fuzzy and operating on 'go slow' at the moment. Saw nothing at all except sunshine, blue skies, antiquities and met some lovely people.

  6. I missed your last post somehow, didn't know you were in Turkey, one of our favorite places. We lived in Izmir for 2 years and have never forgotten it.
Your autumn pictures, and the quotes below, are quite stunning.

    1. Thank you Janet - I do recall that you spent time in Izmir. We travelled very close to the area but didn't actually visit.
The autumn photos were taken just before we left in case the colours had past over by our return.
