Catalpa Aurea - Indian bean tree

The striking fluorescence of the Catalpa leaves viewed from above, and from underneath with the sun shinning through.

  1. I have been entangled in grand children but am still here Rosemary. My traffic always drops on the weekend and in the summer. The green leaves are beautiful.

    1. That is very strange Marian, because they are not showing for me, and neither are followers showing on other peoples blogs for me.

  5. What a lovely series of photos Rosemary, I love the colour and light. I am not sure what is missing from your sidebar as I can see lots of little images from your friends posts, including my own. :)

    1. Glad you enjoyed the photos. I can see the posts on my sidebar, but cannot see the followers and their small Avatars, very strange.

  6. Beautiful photo's of the Catalpa. It's a shame a lot of people cut them back in spring. They miss the beautiful flowers this tree is giving. Sometimes a lot of things disapear from the list of blogs I follow. I also notice that some people's new blogs are not on this list like they have not make new blogs for weeks? Also leaving comments is sometimes hard. It takes 15 minutes before the comment is saved.
    have a great weekend Rosemary

    1. Dear Marijke - our tree has never flowered, but we do not cut it down. Hopefully it will one day.
The funny thing is that my followers are on the 'preview of a draft post' but missing from the main blog post. I do not understand it.

  7. Hi, Rosemary -
Your blog site seems fine...nothing is missing that I can tell??
Lovely and creative photos, once again! Beautiful foliage.

    1. Thanks Loi - the foliage of the Catalpa is lovely.
I do not understand how other people can see the followers and yet they are not showing for me. I can see them on my preview posts but not on the main blog. Blogger is giving me a headache again!!!

  9. Hi Rosemary! The same thing happened to me, with the avatars, a long while back. I had made a change to my blog and, as a result of that, all my followers "went!" Someone suggested that maybe I should try using Firefox (I was and still am on AOL, but can't see the avatars, when I use that server) and, in fact, if I logged on using Firefox and opened my blog, I could still see everything and everyone.
AOL has not allowed me to see the avatars, since, but I now also have Google Chrome, which is perfect for blogging!

    CIAO!

    1. Dear Anna - when things go wrong it makes you feel like giving up. I think to myself do I need all of this aggravation, but I would miss you all so much.
Finally, I have just resolved it. I put a block on my internet browsing - DNT - do not track, to stop companies etc browsing your site. The DNT was blocking my Google Friend Contact, I am so pleased I have solved that problem. I am a happy bunny now until the next problem arises. At least there are lots of good friends to help in blogger.

  10. Dear Rosemary - Your posting brought the animated movie "Antz" to mind. For that film, the animators got great reference by moving cameras on tracks that went along at ground level, filming plants, as you have, from underneath. It's a brilliant perspective!

    1. Dear Mark - I do not know that film, but the view looking up under plants often seems to prove interesting.
I photographed some pink blossom from underneath in the early Spring and I remember the branches became almost black against the pink and look like a Japanese painting.

  11. Great photos! Love that limey green.

Have you tried a different browser? When Blogger starts acting up for me and all else fails, I usually close down my browser and/or restart my computer. Frustrating, isn't it?

    1. Dear Marie - the limey green is rather lovely.
I did what you suggested i.e. closing down but it did not work.
I have just found the cause, and it was me not blogger for a change.
I have put a block on companies etc tracking me, DNT - do not track, and they had put a stop on my My Google Friend Connect. Big sigh of relief that I found the answer.

  12. Those leaves look wonderful with the light streaming through Rosemary. They almost look good enough to eat.

I can see your followers avatars and the blogs you follow too! The only thing that appears to be different are you awards which have moved from the bottom to the side.

    1. Dear Paul - I hunted high and low for a Catalpa tree, in particular the Aurea, because of it's wonderful limey green leaves. It has only been open for the last couple of weeks, but it is always a joy to see, especially with the sun filtering through.
As I mentioned to Marie, above, I have now solved the problem. If you read what I said to her you will see what it was all about.
      Thanks very much.

    1. Yes, dear Mette - yesterday the sun was out and the skies blue, and today actually feels like a summers day. Tomorrow who knows what? Just make the most of it when it is here. H and I will probably take a walk today and enjoy the countryside.
