Our favourite grandson (we only have one grandson) has just received brilliant results in his GCSE exam results. Well done, and congratulations, we are very proud of you.
He is pretty nifty with his hands too, and made me lovely napkin rings from string
What wonderful news Rosemary, an excellent achievement. The napkin rings show such diligent and beautiful handwork.
ReplyDeleteI have looked at the napkin rings time and time again, and cannot work out how he made them!!!
DeleteIsn't it wonderful to be proud of those you love. You know they are fabulous anyway, but their success is a joy. Congratulations to you all. Love the napkin rings. J.
ReplyDeleteDear Janice - that is one of the pleasures of being a grandparent, you can openly show your joy - with your own children I think restrain is the order of the day.
DeleteFirst of all congratulations to your lovely grandson , for his success ! Please , don't look because I prepare right now , a post for you . I 'll post it tomorrow !
ReplyDeleteOlympia
That is very exciting Olympia - thank you, and thank you also for your congratulations.
DeleteCongratulations Dear Rosemary on your grandson's good pass. How delighted we are as grandparents to know our grandchildren are doing so well.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if your grandson is or was a scout! or maybe he has designs to be a naval officer! He sure knows how to knot.
A great napkin holder, sure to be used and shown with love.
val x
I have looked at this napkin ring so many times and cannot work out how he made it.
DeleteHe makes wonderful origami too, and I have some lovely things he has made me out of paper.
His main interest at the moment is to become a designer.
He definately has a flair for design. Those napkin rings are delightful.
DeleteThanks Val - I really like them too.
Deletecongrats
ReplyDeletehis work calls for beautiful pics
anni
Thank you for your visit and the congrats Anni
DeleteDear Rosemary, What a joy it must be to see your grandson doing so well. Congratulations!.
ReplyDeleteThank you Gina - he phoned us last night to give us the good news.
DeleteCongratulations, Rosemary! I love the napkin rings....was wondering what they were at first. How is H doing? Hope his hand is all better.
ReplyDeleteCheers,
Loi
Thank you Loi - H is doing very well, he had the dressing removed at hospital on Wednesday and it is making good progress. I suspect that he will always have funny markings on his nail though.
DeleteOuch....I had a hard time finishing that post, Rosemary. I hope the dog owner posted that sign and installed a box. Loi
DeleteGood job I did not show you the photo I took!!!
DeleteHello Rosemary, Congratulations are really in order here, because I was just reading that this year's GCSE scores were very low, with many students failing or only making very low scores.
ReplyDelete--Road to Parnassus
Did you read that in Taiwan? Isn't that amazing how quickly news gets to every corner of the world. He sat 15 different subjects, most of which he gained A* or A. He is walking in his sister's footsteps, who is at Oxford, so a tough act for him to follow.
DeleteYay for your brilliant grandson. I know you are thrilled for him.
ReplyDeleteDear Olive - we are, when they work so hard they deserve some praise.
DeleteWonderful! Nice napkin rings, too!
ReplyDeleteThanks Marie - I love the napkin rings.
DeleteDear Rosemary - Congratulations to your grandson — I know you must be very proud. It's one thing to be smart and well-educated, and quite another to be creative as well! I know it runs in the family!
ReplyDeleteDear Mark - thank you. The family are very creative - my son and his wife have a lovely studio at the bottom of their garden where they congregate and make things.
DeleteWhat a fabulous idea, quite the young entrepreneur if he could market those! Congratulations to him on his results.
ReplyDeleteHe is trying to raise money for a school expedition and I suggested to him that he should make some and sell them. Thank you we are delighted with his results.
DeleteCongratulations!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the napkin rings, they're really beautiful and the best of course, made by your grandson.
Bye,
Marian
Thank you Marian - yes, extra special when made by our grandson.

ReplyDeleteThank you Nat.
DeleteHello Rosemary
ReplyDeleteThis is wonderful news of your Grandson's success. No doubt he earned these results through his hard work. He is also very artistic, I love the napkin rings.
Thanks for sharing your good news
Helen x
Thank you Helen - I think it is alright for grandparents to be pleased. I love the napkins rings too.
DeleteCongratulations to your grandson! Clever grandma = clever grandson! It is as easy as that, Rosemary! The napkin ring looks amazing! Has he been knitting it? I think this is a very decorative idea - just imagine ringing napkins with these for a winter invitation... Wishing you a relaxing weekend and thank you so much for all the very much appreciated comments you've left! Christa
ReplyDeleteThanks Christa - definitely no credit is due to me though. All down to himself and his parents providing a good environment for him.
DeleteI cannot make out how he has made the napkin ring. It has not been knitted. He is always fiddling with bits of string and comes up with some amazing things. He is one of those people who need to keep their fingers busy, making things out of paper or just playing jazzy music on the piano.
Congratulations to youer grandson Rosemary. The napking ring is also very pretty.
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely sunday. How's your man's hand doing?
Dear Marijke - he is doing extremely well and finishes his antibiotic tomorrow thank you for asking. Yes, I really like the napkin ring, I think he could go into business selling them, but they take him quite a long time to make.
DeleteCongratulations to your very best grandson for doing his very best!
ReplyDeleteThank you Rosemary, he is, and he did.
