Happy New Year

Shortly we are travelling to the beautiful land of fjords, mountains, snow, and trolls.
"Look at them",  troll mother said. "Look at my sons!!! You won't find more beautiful trolls on this side of the moon".

  1. Hello Rosemary, Happy New Year, and have a wonderful trip, although I don't think you'll be seeing too much midnight sun this time.

I only once saw a really impressive display of the aurora, on a trip to Canada, and no photograph can really prepare one for its magnificence, the constant motion and shimmering, the glowing colors.

    1. Dear Jim - a bit of wishful thinking on my part - the only things we are likely to see are the mountains and fjords.
I remember my Canadian sister-in-law saying she had seen the aurora in Canada too and for the past two winters it has been showing in Scotland and the northern part of England which is not normal.
The weather is incredibly mild and has dawned bright and sunny so good for travels at the moment.

  4. Have a wonderful trip, Rosemary. The aurora photos are magnificent, something I have never seen. I am interested to read that it sometimes appears in Canada, which we visit regularly to see our daughter. Look forward to seeing pictures of your visit.

    1. Yes, it can be seen in Canada. My sister-in-law lives in Toronto, but I imagine she must have seen it when she was out in the country away from the city because of all the light pollution.
