Flower Quiz

Do you know what this flower is growing in the garden?

It has been in flower for the whole of June.
Comments moderation has been switched on during the quiz.
P.S I have noticed that quite a number of bloggers do not have redirect to https switched on. This means that your blog is not secure. It is very easy to make the switch in blogger settings.

  1. I think it's in settings, not layout Rosemary - but good advice.

  3. It looks like a member of the mint family. Perhaps a little vividly colored for peppermint, but beyond that I am not sure. --Jim

  4. Dearest Rosemary,
Don't know what this flower is...
What you wrote in an earlier post about the old blogger vanishing in about two weeks was not correct. Till the end of July, people still have a chance to revert back to the old Blogger: By late July, creators will no longer be able to revert to the legacy Blogger interface.
    But the transition is simple.
    Hugs,

    1. Dear Mariette - I did read and realise that it might carry on until towards the end of July and mentioned that fact in one or two of my comments. However, with Blogger you can never be totally sure about what they might or might not do. I think the sooner everyone gets used to it the better it will be for them.

  5. Hi Rosemary. I'm thinking Anise hyssop (Agastache foeniculum). Very pretty, easy to grow, herbaceous perennial.

    1. There is a little bit of deception going on here Mary, not on my part but on the part of the plant.

    2. When I look closer, the leaves look very much like a hydrangea! Are the flowers faux by chance - stems look plastic? Someone is playing with us??????

    3. The flowers, the stems, and the leaves, are all real Mary and growing in that pot!!!

  6. Dear Rosemary, When enlarged like this it is difficult to tell what this plant might be. Maybe Spearmint?

  10. I think it's some sort of hyssop although the leaves look rather broad for that plant.

  12. It looks like an orchid growing with a hydrangea.

  13. Oh, heavy. First I thought of an orchid , but no - leaves are like that of a hydrangea, I think. But not in form of a "ball" or "plate", but upright (know some hanging ones.) Mmmh. Very wild guess: Hydrangea paniculata.

  16. I've seen somethong a bit like this, but I've no idea what it is. I can't even find one in my issues of Gardeners World. You have some very interesting plants. I'm going to throw out a guess and say loosestrife. Best, Jane x
