I love the little crocheted rainbow too. Someone kindly popped into a Christmas card for us, so I decided to hang it on our front door along with my wooden heart instead of having a Christmas wreath this year - a rainbow of hope.
Dear Rosemary, Such a charming and healthy looking heart. Wouldn't it be lovely if we could adorn our lives with colored yarns crocheted into beautiful rainbows. Happy New Year to you and your loved ones.
Dear Gina - I think that many of us love to see a rainbow following a storm. Since ancient times people have considered rainbows to be special. In Greek mythology rainbows were thought to be a path between Earth and Heaven.
May everything good come your way this new year dear Rosemary. Continued good health is at the top of our list, then the ability to travel. We are now moved up to an earlier group(over 75)to receive the vaccine so hope to get it sooner than expected. Of course I realize that doesn't mean we can hop on a plane any day soon, but hopefully by Spring!
Lovely door decoration - Socrates certainly hit the nail on the head with those words. . .and so long ago!
A happy New Year to you, J and the family. I'll email soon - I'm way behind with correspondence! Hugs from us both XX
We must all keep positive Mary, however this new variant is now a matter of great concern. When I was a child my mother always said that we need a really cold winter to get rid of all the bugs, but now we know that is not true, the bugs love the cold, and that is why the vaccine has to be kept at such a low temperature. Love and hugs from us bothX
Hello (again) Rosemary, Somehow my comment got lost, but you know that I would not miss the chance to wish you a happy and healthy New Year! --Jim p.s. Something is really going crazy with my comments! I hope that this is not a new wrinkle with Blogger.
Hello Jim - a Happy and Healthy New Year to you too. Others have also mentioned that they are having problems commenting - New Blogger does appear to keep having problems from time to time, more so than Old Blogger.
Thank you Lorrie - it will be wonderful when life gets easier for us all, but I do hope that people will remember these moments and reflect on just what is important.
Happiest of New Years is my wish for you, Rosemary! That citation of Socrates has really inspired me - I found the french translation and I will use my calligraphy pen and then attach it in front of my computer to remind me each day to move forward, not backward!
Happy New Year Mary - I love the fact that your have translated this into french and that you are going to attach it to the front of your computer - what a great idea.
The best wishes for you in the new year too.
ReplyDeleteLet's hope this year is a new beginning for us all.
Delete.....and that is why Socrates is still relevant today!
