Hello Rosemary: How well you capture here the feeling of the last of summer light and the beginning of autumn. Here in Budapest we are sweltering in temperatures of 35C, but there is a sense that a thunderstorm cannnot be too far off.
Dear Jane & Lance - there is definitely an end of the holiday and back to school feel here. I enjoy a good thunderstorm, everything feels fresher, and it clears the air.
Thank you, dear Rosemary, for the explanation of "demerara sugar" :) This way I not only learned something but also discovered your beautiful blog. Stunning pictures and interesting stories, wonderful!
Dear Bozena - thank you very much. I expect that you realised that ordinary sugar on the plums would do as well. Do come and see me again, at some time in the future I might even have a story about Poland!

ReplyDeleteYour garden is beautiful! I have the sense that you've found some secret way to keep all insects at bay.
ReplyDeleteHello Mark - insects not too bad, but slugs they are our enemy!!

ReplyDeleteGlorious pictures, Rosemary! Bit drizzly and cold today...lets hope for something a little more conducive tomorrow...
ReplyDeleteA pleasant day here Kate, blue skies with the odd threat of some rain which passed over. Are you home from the coast?
