Hello Rosemary, I wish you a good trip to Paris. Right now, some people from the U.S. don't feel much like celebrating, but thanks for reminding us that countries, like France, can go through various dark periods and yet survive with a great deal of their luster intact.
I have always loved history, and Paris, so it shouldn't be a surprise that I enjoy studying about the great French artists.A bit of trivia. Did you know that in that Renoir painting, the girl in the hat(foreground left), Aline, would become his wife some years later. Across from Aline is another painter I like, a young Gustave Caillebotte. Enjoy your visit. janey
Enjoy your stay dear friend. If I remember well, you have your son and his family in Paris. So, have all of you a nice time together. The city of art, history, architecture and love is beautiful every time of the year. Olympia
Have a fabulous French holiday Rosemary - Paris is such a beautiful city. Meanwhile, here the day is special and surprising! We pray for a better America, and world, in the coming years. Hugs - Mary
La belle ville! Have a wonderful time in Paris. Your last photo made me laugh. My husband and I sat on a park bench just behind Notre Dame once and watched a young couple making out on another bench opposite us. Totally unconcerned. It was very entertaining.
Dear Rosemary, Wish I could hop on a plane or train or boat and be in Paris in just a few hours. Have a most wonderful time. I am already looking forward to seeing photos of Paris in the Fall.
Hello, Rosemary! I wonder whether you’ve returned or are still in Paris but wish you joyful days being soaked in the lovely ambience of Paris and with your family. Looking forward to your souvenir photos and talks.
Beside the R. Seine is Maison Fournaise in Chatou where Renoir painted this, and it is literally a brisk walk from my son's house - it still looks the same today with its balconies and awnings coloured orange and white.

The balcony at Maison Fournaise where the painting was done is beside the Seine and is a short walk from my eldest son's house.
